Haemorrhoids

Haemorrhoids – Band application- This procedure is used to treat internal hemorrhoids, which are swollen blood vessels inside the rectum or anus.
During rubber band ligation, a doctor or healthcare professional uses a special instrument to place a small rubber band around the base of the hemorrhoid. The band cuts off the blood supply to the hemorrhoid, causing it to shrink and eventually fall off within a few days. This helps to alleviate the symptoms associated with the hemorrhoid.
Rubber band ligation is a relatively simple and effective treatment for internal hemorrhoids. However, it may cause some temporary discomfort, such as a feeling of pressure or mild pain. In rare cases, complications may occur, including bleeding, infection, or difficulty urinating.

Haemorrhoidectomy – Haemorrhoidectomy is a surgical procedure performed to remove hemorrhoids, which are swollen blood vessels located in the anal canal or rectum. This procedure is typically used for more severe cases of hemorrhoids that have not responded to conservative treatments. Haemorrhoidectomy is an effective treatment for severe or persistent hemorrhoids, but it is associated with a longer recovery period compared to less invasive procedures. As with any surgical procedure, there are potential risks and complications, including bleeding, infection, urinary retention, and anal stenosis (narrowing of the anal canal).
