Enlarged Prostate
Enlarged Prostate- Transurethral resection of prostate (TURP), DVIU ( Direct Visual internal urethrotomy, TURBT (- Transurethral resection of Bladder tumour)- 1.As men age, the prostate gland often grows larger, which is a normal process called prostate gland enlargement. However, in some cases, this enlargement can lead to compression of the urethra and cause various urinary problems.
Symptoms:
- Urinary frequency: Needing to urinate more frequently, especially during the night (nocturia).
- Urgency: A sudden and strong urge to urinate.
- Weak urine flow: Difficulty starting and maintaining a steady stream of urine.
- Incomplete emptying: A feeling that the bladder is not fully emptied after urination.
- Dribbling: Urine leakage or dribbling after urination.
- Straining: Needing to strain or push to begin urination.
- Urinary retention: In some cases, BPH can cause the inability to urinate, which requires immediate medical attention & catheterisation.
- Internal Haemorrhoids – bleeding, prolapse or protrude through the anus, causing discomfort or irritation.
- External Haemorrhoids – form under the skin around the anus. They can be felt as a lump or swelling and may cause itching, pain, or bleeding.
